I'm not a diabetic, but I am the father of a Type 1 diabetes

Here are some things that have worked for us. The most important thing you can do is the additional blood sugar tests take about a week. Testing before and 1 to 2 hours after meals. This provides the best basis for adjusting your insulin regimine to improve the overall results.

So if your blood sugar is consistently high, before meals (or) even a meal in particular, indicates that you need to increase their basal rate. Do not rise dramatically increased only a little at a time.

If your meal, after the tests are too high, which means your insulin-carbohydrate ratio is too low. (Some pumps can calculate your relationship program, or we can, that in your head.)

These are the most common scenarios in which a high level of hemoglobin A1C. However, it is possible that instead, they are either before or after meals, and you must then compensate by eating sugar for your blood sugar levels. Often in such cases to higher compensation and relatedTo be too high. So say if you know that at certain times of the day, fall, and then properly adjust their basal insulin or carbohydrates per serving. By avoiding at least hope, that we avoid, not too high to.

I hope this helps. I agree also answer with another question, you should continue to look for a better doctor.
